"BUS"-STYLE HEATER CORE (port forward side of pilothouse floor) : 40,000 BTU/300 CFM heater plumbed into closed loop glycol cooling circuit of the Perkins diesel (less than 2800 hrs ATM), provides toasty 125F to the pilothouse cabin in cooler weather motor-sailing conditions. Purchased from JEGS at : https://www.jegs.com/i/JEGS/555/70602/10002/-1. New starter just installed, as shown in pix.
With a shallow 3 foot, 11 inch draft to get into plenty of interesting places deeper draft boats cant go. Contact info provided upon request for inspection at the dockside or on the hard as various work proceeds on this boat. Boat is offered at Buffalo, NY, by appointment only.
NOTE: this is NOT a fancy boat, IT IS like your fave worn, yet still loved pair of LEVI's jeans -- soooooo, to continue the analogy.... IF you're looking for some designer Gucci dress pants for cheap, this boat is not for you ;) -- yet if you're looking for a reliable diesel boat / trawler / liveaboard for a great price, which can be easily converted to powerboat only as mentioned above, look no further. COME SEE THE BOAT IN BUFFALO AND LET'S TALK.
I won’t engage in endless emails, or reply to 'Is it available" clicks, so please bring yourself and your questions to Buffalo and see it in person. Adding further pix as continue to finish various little projects on the boat, such as painting storage areas and the V-berth, cabinetry stuff.
NOW SOME OF THE ISSUES: Port-lites / hatches drip during heavy / blowing rains, rotten wood removed from galley shelf area, teak brightwork in decent shape would benefit from refinishing as would galley / including all the paint/refinishing stuff I had bought for this, main-sail UV cover needs restitching, small oil seep at oil pan to engine front cover gasket, York Road Marine replaced gasket+RTV taking it from a serious leak to a slow seep, I deal with this since then with replacement of oil absorbent pad/pig/sock as needed (versus pulling it all apart again), minimal equipment/electronics, old GPS, no RADAR, no autopilot, no chartplotter, no inverter, no AC, NON-functional head / we use a West Marine porta-pottie or compost toilet depending on duration of voyages. Basically needs TLC here and there -- yet very solid bones. Morgan's fiberglass layup was super thick and strong back in the day -- will last decades more with continuing care -- bottom paint, etc. New starter installed.
OutIsland Pilothouse Morgan 33, quite rare, <100 made with factory pilothouse. Furling main and jib all controlled from helm station inside pilothouse. Good shape for 1980 yacht, Galley and Settee interior ready for refinishing. Hull and mechanicals are very good. Ablative bottom paint, SeaHawk $400 / gallon high-quality anti-fouling. Professional yard maintenance on entire hull in 2019 fixed any blisters, inclusive of barrier coat, anti-foul, etc. Only ONE blister since then - also fixed.
Perkins 4 cylinder diesel with less than 2800 hours on it, very reliable and fuel efficient, performing flawlessly for hundreds of hours and hundreds of miles since leaving Gulf of Mexico in 2019 and been on Great Lakes since 2020, Reliable boat.
LOTS of spares / ready to go anywhere — just did 70 miles July 4th /5th — most pix from that week of sailing.
CLEAN MICHIGAN TITLE.
Pilot house factory installed, not a home built job. Last 5 years of upgrades/repairs at professional yards totaling $7000 plus. Solid fiberglass layup, all of hull gone over completely and repairs done by professionals (York Road Marine, Cracker Boy (Fort Pierce); Bert Jabin Yacht Yard, Annapolis). Hull is ready for decades more. York Road bill alone was $5700 diesel engine and hull repairs; receipts ready to show. Some interior trim removed in Galley and settee ready for a new owner's taste for redecorating. Many new items, such as fuel pumps, $800 helm hydraulic steering (Hy-Nautics) unit, new reman starter $500, automatic battery charger, water heater (currently disconnected, but installed below pilothouse sole), newer LED lights throughout, newer standing/running rigging, good Dacron sails with unique main sail, loose footed main furling (needs some restitching of the UV cover -- good fall project). There is no boom! All sail controls handled at the helm (winch and rope clutches) in the pilot house. Extend your season with a pilot house.
PLEASE USE Craigslist email relay since I cannot deal with scammers and I don't need help selling this great boat.
I will share more photos and info with you once we exchange contact info. PRICE NEGOTIABLE / CASH PLEASE / NO TRADES. All reasonable offers considered. Thank you for looking!!
